Sipping whiskey on a cold December evening fellow space cowboy and photographer Art Richardson and I were delving into the roll physical location played and the forces it exerted on photographic expression. Perhaps we reasoned an examination was in order, a project as it were and thus that evening we decided that in the coming year (1986) to photograph in Kananaskis at least once a week for no other reason than a commitment to its discovery. More about this area of the Easter Rockies may be found on their website: https://www.albertaparks.ca/parks/kananaskis/kananaskis-country/
I produced an edit of 52 images from the year long effort born of chemical analog materials and processes and is part of my life long visual exploration of the world around me. This series began at the stroke of midnight December 31st, 1985 with a 9 minute exposure of the moonlit eastern slopes of the Kananaskis mountain range but here appear in no particular order or season.
